One-Pot Pasta
Pasta cooked directly in a simple tomato sauce, no draining needed.
Ingredients
Sauté
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Pressure cook
- 1 lb penne or rotini
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups water
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper
After cooking
- Fresh basil
- Parmesan cheese (or vegan parmesan)
Instructions
- Set pot to sauté. Heat oil, add garlic and red pepper flakes, stir for 30 seconds.
- Add pasta, crushed tomatoes, water, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Make sure the pasta is submerged.
- Pressure cook on high for 4 minutes, then quick release.
- Stir well. The sauce will thicken as it sits.
- Serve topped with fresh basil and parmesan.
Notes
Use half the stated cook time on the pasta box, minus 1 minute. Different shapes may need slight adjustments.
