About
"Multi-cooker" is kind of a corny term, but it's the best one I've found for the category of kitchen appliances that excel at cooking meals in a single pot, and function as pressure cookers, slow cookers, air fryers, and more.
During a recent DIY kitchen renovation, I cooked exclusively in a multi-cooker (the Ninja Foodi) for almost a year, and became a devoted fan. The biggest problem: finding good recipes. I want things that play to the strengths of the multi-cooker (pressure cooking, air frying, etc), but also taste like they were made in a full kitchen.
Even after installing a working stove/oven/etc, I find myself using the one-pot devices more than the full-sized alternatives. It's quick, easy, energy-efficient when you're making a small meal, and there's less cleanup.
These recipes aren't sponsored by or associated with Ninja or any other brand - I just wanted to share the meals I've made with my multi-cooker. We use affiliate purchase links in a couple of places to help cover the operating costs of the site, but all opinions are our own.
I've written up a few of my favorites. Recipes with a star (⭐) are ones I've made multiple times personally, and I'm confident in recommending.
My personal biases:
- I'm vegetarian, so a lot of recipes here will be too.
- I'm not a big dessert person.
- I'm in the USA, so measurements will be in US customary units.
- I'm usually cooking for 2 people; I like making enough for leftovers, but small multi-cookers can make it tricky to make massive portions.
