Dried Fruit
Make your own dried fruit; apple chips, mango, banana, and more.
Ingredients
- 3–4 cups sliced fruit (apples, mangoes, bananas, or strawberries)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (for apples and bananas, to prevent browning)
Instructions
- Slice fruit into even, thin pieces (about 1/8" thick).
- Toss apple or banana slices with lemon juice.
- Arrange slices in a single layer on the dehydrator rack. Don't overlap.
- Dehydrate at 135°F for 6–10 hours, checking after 6 hours.
- Fruit is done when it's leathery and no longer sticky.
Notes
Thinner slices dry faster and crispier. Thicker slices stay chewier. Drying times vary by fruit; apples take about 8 hours, bananas about 6, mangoes about 10.
