Dried Fruit

Make your own dried fruit; apple chips, mango, banana, and more.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Slice fruit into even, thin pieces (about 1/8" thick).
  2. Toss apple or banana slices with lemon juice.
  3. Arrange slices in a single layer on the dehydrator rack. Don't overlap.
  4. Dehydrate at 135°F for 6–10 hours, checking after 6 hours.
  5. Fruit is done when it's leathery and no longer sticky.

Notes

Thinner slices dry faster and crispier. Thicker slices stay chewier. Drying times vary by fruit; apples take about 8 hours, bananas about 6, mangoes about 10.
