  1. Set pot to sauté. Heat oil and cook onion until softened, about 4 minutes.
  2. Add garlic, cumin, and paprika. Stir for 1 minute.
  3. Add beans, bay leaf, and water. Stir.
  4. Pressure cook on high for 30 minutes.
  5. Natural release for 15 minutes, then quick release.
  6. Discard bay leaf. Add lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
  7. For creamier beans, mash some against the side of the pot and stir.
